Biffle Finishes 18th at Texas

FORT WORTH, T.X. (Nov. 6, 2016) – Greg Biffle started the rain delayed day-race turned night-race at Texas Motor Speedway from the 25th position.  Biffle lost a lap due to a loose handling condition and was making gains when the rain returned forcing NASCAR to call the race 41 laps short of the scheduled distance.  Biffle was left with an 18th-place finish in his No. 16 Performance Plus Motor Oil Ford Fusion.

The Sunday afternoon race was delayed until the evening due to rain and a track surface that didn’t want to completely dry.  NASCAR had the cars pace the track in an attempt to dry the track before starting the race under a green-yellow flag.  The opening caution lasted six laps before the track was deemed ready and the field took the green.

Biffle started the race 25th and maintained that position until pitting under the competition caution on lap 30 for four tires, fuel, shim and an air pressure adjustment.  Biffle lost a lap to the leaders just shy of 100 laps into the race while battling a loose handling condition.

Over the course of the race the team tried different wedge adjustments over pit stops in an effort to combat the loose-handling condition and were able to help get Biffle into position to be the “lucky dog” recipient, but a caution never fell his way.

Biffle then worked his way up to 18th in the closing stages before the caution came out once again for rain.  NASCAR brought the field down pit road and officially called the race 41 laps shy of the schedule distance, resulting in an 18th-place finish for Biffle.
