Bit-O-Honey To Ride With Buescher At Talladega Superspeedway In May

CONCORD, N.C. (Feb. 27, 2015) —  Fresh off last weekend’s stellar second-place performance at Daytona International Speedway, Roush Fenway Racing has announced that Bit-O-Honey will partner with Chris Buescher at Talladega Superspeedway for the NASCAR XFINITY Series Winn Dixie 300 on May 2.  Buescher raced in the front of the pack all day at Daytona, leading 12 laps and finishing just .089-seconds outside of first place. Buescher has finished second in two of his last three restrictor-plate races, including a runner-up finish last season in his first race at Talladega.

“It’s very exciting to have Bit-O-Honey back on the car again this year,” said Buescher, who left Daytona second in the NASCAR XFINITY Series point standings. “We had them on the car last year at Texas and everyone in the garage couldn’t seem to get enough of the product. They are great to work with and have a lot of excitement for the sport. We were close last year at Talladega and we were close again at Daytona, so we are looking to go back to Talladega in May, finish the job and put that No. 60 Bit-O-Honey Ford in Victory Lane.”

Buescher teamed with Bit-O-Honey for a 13th-place finish last season at his home track of Texas Motor Speedway.

“Everyone at Pearson’s Candy had a great experience working with Chris and the team last season,” president and CEO Michael Keller.  “The entire organization is excited about the opportunity to team up with Roush Fenway Racing again this season and we look forward to a great race and hopefully concluding the weekend by celebrating with Chris and the team in the winner’s circle.”

The honey flavored taffy and almond candy was first manufactured in 1924 and is now produced by Pearson Candy Company in Minneapolis.  Pearson Candy Company, founded in 1909, is also known for other classic brands such as the Salted Nut Roll, Mint Patties, Nut Goodie and Bun Bar.

The Winn Dixie 300 is set for Saturday, May 2 with the green flag dropping at 3:00 p.m. ET. It will be televised live on FOX and can be heard on MRN and on NASCAR Sirius/XM Radio Channel 90.
