Cindric excited to pilot famed No. 60 Ford at Daytona

CONCORD, N.C. (Jan. 18, 2017) – Austin Cindric will pilot the No. 60 Ford in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) kickoff race at Daytona.

The news was broadcast yesterday on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio’s “Jack’s Garage” segment of “Dialed In.” Host Claire B. Lang visited the Roush Fenway Racing facility this week to give fans an exclusive first interview with Cindric after the announcement.

“It’s an honor to be able to start off a program as unique as what we’ve got going on in the 60 car,” Cindric said. “I think it’s something unique what Ford is doing with this program between Roush and Penske. I couldn’t imagine starting at a better place obviously and I’m just happy to be in the seat for the first race.”

Cindric’s start at Daytona marks his second career NXS race. The first came in Aug. 2017 at Road America with Team Penske. The driver is the first of Roush Fenway’s three Ford Development drivers to hit the track in the No. 60 Ford Mustang this season. Cindric along with Ty Majeski and Chase Briscoe will be sharing the iconic number for the 2018 season.
