Reed Enters Round 2 of XFINITY Series Chase

Ryan Reed will make his third NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Kansas Speedway this weekend.  In his two previous starts at the 1.5-mile track, Reed’s best finish of 12th came in 2014.  In this event last season, Reed started and finished 17th. In two ARCA Racing Series starts at Kansas Speedway, Reed earned two top-10 finishes, crossing the finish line 10th in 2012 and fourth in 2015.

Reed at Kansas

Ryan Reed will make his third NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Kansas Speedway this weekend.  In his two previous starts at the 1.5-mile track, Reed’s best finish of 12th came in 2014.  In this event last season, Reed started and finished 17th.

The Chase

After last weekend’s first cutoff race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Reed moves on to the Round of 8 in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase.  Reed enters this weekend’s race sixth on the Chase Grid.  The Round of 8 will be whittled down to the Championship 4 after the next three races at Kansas, Texas and Phoenix.

Reed and the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association team earned a top-15 finish on Sunday afternoon at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  With the result, Reed and team advanced to the next round of the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase.

2016 Season

Reed ranks sixth on the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase Grid after 29 races. He has recorded one top-five and six top-10 finishes, led eight laps for the season and has recorded an average finish of 16.

Reed on Kansas

“I’m really proud of this Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association team for putting together a strong first round of the XFINITY Series Chase,” said Reed.  “We are working hard to step it up to be in contention for the next round of the Chase.  We need to have a strong run and another mistake-free weekend.”

Meet Ryan

Reed will join Blake Koch on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. CT for a Q&A at the Kansas Speedway fan hospitality area.  Following that appearance, Reed and Roush Fenway teammate Bubba Wallace will visit the Ford Display for another Q&A on Saturday at 9:55 a.m. CT.
