ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at Mid-Ohio

This weekend’s race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course marks the second road course race of the season for the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Reed has visited the 2.4-mile road course just once, finishing 12th in 2014.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital Patient Champion

This weekend for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Reed is paired with 14-year-old Michael Galiher from Newark, Ohio. Like Reed, Galiher isn’t letting a medical diagnosis slow him down. Galiher was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, which is accompanied by a rapid heartbeat, over two years ago. With the help of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Michael is healthy and active, playing football, riding dirt and BMX bikes, and doing anything outside.

Watkins Glen Recap

Reed finished 30th at Watkins Glen International on Saturday after being involved in a race-ending incident with eight laps to go. Reed had worked his No. 16 Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang up to 12th at the time the incident occurred.

2015 Season

Reed is currently 10th in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship standings after one win and 12 top-15 finishes.

Reed on Mid-Ohio

“Mid-Ohio is a really cool track because it’s super technical and requires a ton of preparation and precision on the driver’s part. I’m excited about the changes we made this week at RFR and am anxious to work with (crew chief) Chad (Norris) and the guys for the first time this weekend. We have spent a ton of time working on the simulator program to prepare for road courses and plan on bringing home a solid top-10 finish this weekend.”

Tune-in

Reed and the rest of the NASCAR XFINITY Series will take the green flag from Mid-Ohio on Saturday, August 15 at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network and MRN.
