Stenhouse and Biffle Score Top-10 Finishes in Sprint Unlimited
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2016) – Roush Fenway’s duo of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Greg Biffle weathered multiple incidents in a crash-filled opening to the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, to score a pair of top-10 finishes Saturday night in the Sprint Unlimited all-star race at Daytona International Speedway. Stenhouse had issues early, but rebounded to bring his No. 17 Fastenal Ford home in sixth. Biffle finished tenth despite being caught up in three separate accidents – the last coming on the final lap of the race.
“It was pretty good,” said Biffle of his No. 16 KFC Nashville Hot Ford. “Our car was pretty fast. These things are getting harder and harder to pass. They are all the same speed. We are two and three wide and you can’t really do anything. The car drove good though. I was pretty happy with it. We kind of got in the wrong lane and I don’t know what happened to the No. 31 car. I guess he thought he had a flat. We wrecked getting in down there and that took our chances away.”
The teams return to action tomorrow for Daytona 500 pole day, which will determine the front row for next Sunday’s Daytona 500, as well as the lineup for Thursday’s twin duel qualifying races.
The qualifying session is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. ET and will be televised live FOX.
The Daytona 500 is set for 1:00 p.m. , on Sunday, Feb. 21 and will be televised live on FOX.
