NASCAR Announces 2026 Cup Series Schedule
San Diego, Chicagoland Highlight Additions to 2026 Slate
CONCORD, N.C. (August 20, 2025) – NASCAR announced Wednesday the schedule for the 2026 season, highlighted by a shakeup in the Championship 4 race, and a new and returning venue to total the 38-race schedule.
A major highlight of the 2026 schedule is the return of Homestead-Miami Speedway as the host of the Championship Race, marking its first time in this role since 2019. The event will take place on November 8, replacing Phoenix Raceway as the season’s grand finale.
The Cup Series calendar will also feature two notable additions, with the debut of the San Diego Street Course at Naval Base Coronado making its inaugural appearance on June 21. Additionally, Chicagoland Speedway will return to the schedule on July 5, hosting its first race since 2019.
Watkins Glen International (May 10) has been rescheduled to an earlier date, positioning the road course in the spring portion of the season. The prestigious NASCAR All-Star Race will relocate to Dover Motor Speedway on May 17, while North Wilkesboro Speedway (July 19) will rejoin the Cup Series schedule as a points-paying venue, reviving one of NASCAR’s historic tracks.
Kansas Speedway (Sunday, Sept. 27) will shift to the opening race of the Cup Series Round of 12. Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Sunday, Oct. 4) will move to the second race of the round followed by the Charlotte ROVAL elimination race (Sunday, Oct. 11).
Furthermore, New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s event on August 23 will transition from the playoff segment to the regular season, while Phoenix Raceway will move from hosting the championship finale to the opening race of the Round of 8.
The 2026 schedule will also include two designated off weekends, with no races planned for Easter Sunday or the week following the Indianapolis event on July 26.
