ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at Talladega Superspeedway

Reed has one start in the NASCAR XFINITY Series at Talladega Superspeedway, which came in May 2014. Reed qualified fourth and led the opening 29 laps of the race before getting caught up in a wreck on Lap 62 and finishing in the 24th position.

Riding with Ryan

American Diabetes Association Youth Ambassador Daniel Nash of Fairbanks, Alaska will “Ride with Ryan’ this weekend. The 12-year-old’s name will ride above the passenger-side window of the No. 16 Ford Mustang. Nash, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age eight, is a huge advocate for those living with the disease through his fundraising and participation in events such as the American Diabetes Association’s yearly Step Out®: Walk to Stop Diabetes® and Tour De Cure®. In addition to his charitable work, Nash enjoys playing badminton and guitar, Pokémon, writing stories and taking care of his dog and bearded dragons.

Appearances

Reed will participate in the NASCAR XFINITY Series autograph session on Friday, May 1 at 2 p.m. CDT on the concourse behind the OV Hill South Grandstand Sections D&E. To guarantee a spot in line, each fan will need a wristband, which can be picked up for free from the Guest Services Office located at OV Hill South Grandstand, Section L. Those who don’t have wristbands will be allowed in the line and will be able to get autographs only if time permits.

Reed will participate in a Q&A at the Ford Display in the Talladega Superspeedway concourse on Saturday, May 2 at 12:05 p.m. CDT.

Richmond Recap

Reed took home a 21st-place finish in Friday night’s race under the lights at Richmond International Raceway after starting 14th. Reed fought an ill-handling car throughout the race, despite the team’s endless effort to improve the balance of the racecar.

2015 Season

Reed is currently eighth in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship standings after one win and five top-15 finishes. He is the only XFINITY Series regular to win a race so far this season.

Reed on Talladega

“I love restrictor plate racing and Roush Fenway brings really good cars to the superspeedways. We tackled the first one at Daytona so I would love to get the win at Talladega to get the sweep for the season so far. There are so many unknowns at Talladega that you have to just go in focused on getting a top-10 and hope you’re there at the end to contend for the win. After putting our No. 16 Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang in victory lane in Daytona, I’m excited for the car that Seth (Barbour) and the team have prepared for this race and would love wind up in victory lane on Saturday.”

Tune-in

Reed and the rest of the NASCAR XFINITY Series will take the green flag from Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. CDT on FOX.
