ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse Jr. at Michigan International Speedway

Stenhouse Jr. has five NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Michigan International Speedway with an average starting position of 22.0 and average finishing position of 20.4.

The 2013 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year also has three XFINITY starts earning one top-five and one top-10 finish.

Earlier This Season at Michigan

With different pit strategies among the competitors, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. maneuvered his Ford up to 25th before a thunderstorm drenched the speedway and ended the race with only 136 laps complete.

In the Points

After three tough weeks, Stenhouse Jr. currently sits 27th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings with four races remaining until the Chase.

Zest

Zest is currently in its fourth season as a primary partner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Roush Fenway. They have spent all four years on the No. 17 machine; one year with Matt Kenseth and three years with Stenhouse.

Zest adorned the No. 17 machine at Bristol Motor Speedway where Stenhouse picked up his first top five of the season.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Michigan:

“Michigan is a place where as an organization we want to have a strong run since it is in the backyard of Ford and Roush Industries. We’re running the same aero package that we ran at Indy a few weeks ago in which we think we learned a few things that could help us this weekend. We’ve struggled the past couple of weeks so hopefully we can have a good finish this weekend at Michigan.”

Sandler on racing at Michigan:

“We’re running the same package that we ran at Indy which I think we learned some things that should help us this weekend. The past three weekends we have gotten caught up in an accident so we just need one weekend where we get a finish we deserve. Hopefully we can leave Michigan with a solid finish and make up some of the points we have lost.”
