ROUSH Performance Distractor Face Contest Lets Fans Choose Hood Design For Wallace’s Chicago Car

CONCORD, N.C. (June 11, 2015) – The ROUSH Performance Distractor Face contest will allow NASCAR fans to decide on a unique design for Bubba Wallace’s No. 6 Ford Mustang at Chicagoland Speedway on June 20. Fans will vote through social media hashtags to determine which of the FOX broadcast team will appear on Wallace’s hood. Voters can choose between Danielle Trotta, Larry McReynolds and Jeff Hammond to adorn the hood of Wallace’s ROUSH Performance car.

Wallace currently sits fifth in the NASCAR XFINITY Series points with 399. His strong rookie season has produced one top-five finish, four top-tens and one pole award.

Trotta, McReynolds and Hammond previously appeared in Bubba Wallace’s “Midnight Run” promotional video, which debuted on FOX Sports 1’s NASCAR Race Hub program.

“It’s awesome that we’re including the ROUSH Performance Distractor Face in our paint scheme for the upcoming race at Chicagoland Speedway,” said Wallace. “When I heard about this opportunity, the first thought that came to mind was ‘well, whose face do we put on the car?’ Coming off the launch of Bubba Wallace: Midnight Run, we thought it’d be a great idea to offer the spot to Fox Sports 1’s Danielle Trotta, Larry McReynolds and Jeff Hammond. It’ll be interesting to see who the fans pick. And who knows, with their help, maybe we’ll get us a win!”

The ROUSH Performance Distractor Face originated in 2012, when fans submitted photos of their own faces for a chance to appear on the rear bumper of Jack Roush Jr.’s No. 61 car in the Grand-Am series. The trend quickly spread across online racing communities, with fans attempting to come up with their favorite designs to distract the competition.

“We first announced the idea of the ROUSH Distractor Face on my road racing car at Mid-Ohio back in 2012,” said Jack Roush Jr.  “It’s awesome to see it now make its way into NASCAR on Bubba’s hood!  It should make for a great show.”

Voting for the contest will close on June 17. Voting totals will be collected through hashtag use across Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Fans can vote for their favorite design by including the hashtags #DistractorDanielle, #DistractorLarry or #DistractorJeff in posts.
