Kidd and Wheeler Discuss Off Weekend Plans on ‘Jack’s Garage’

CONCORD, N.C. (March 29, 2018) – Kevin Kidd and Tommy Wheeler joined Claire B. Lang for this week’s episode of “Jack’s Garage.”

Wheeler, Roush Fenway Racing’s operations director, discussed the team’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series’ (MENCS) performance at Martinsville Speedway.

“We didn’t get it done and that’s just the honest answer,” Wheeler said. “Martinsville has been a bit of a yin and yang type track for us. Historically it’s not been a great track for Roush Fenway but in the last few years, it’s turned into one of our strong suits. The short track program certainly in 2017 was something we were proud of.”

Kidd, the team’s competition director, joined the segment along with Wheeler to discuss what the team will be working to improve during the off weekend.

“I certainly think that at Texas you’re going to see teams take the opportunity to sort of hit the reset switch,” Kidd said. “For us, we’re going to take this break really just to focus on a handful of things — our execution and our car speed — and really just try to get those two things better conditioned than they currently are so that we can perform the way we know we can.”
