Roush Fenway Racing prepares for The Clash

CONCORD, N.C. (Feb. 9, 2018) – It’s that time of year again. Fans across the country will flock to Daytona International Speedway this weekend for the first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) event of the season: The Clash.

NASCAR fans can prepare for the Daytona 500 with an action filled 75-lap qualifying race. The race will consist of two segments with a competition caution at Lap 25.

The field is set with 17 drivers eligible to compete by meeting criteria in the 2017 MENCS season. Athletes participating had to qualify for the 2017 MENCS playoffs, win a pole award in the 2017 season, have won a previous Clash race, or be a former Daytona 500 pole winner that competed full-time in 2017.

Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is eligible to compete due to his 2017 pole win at Talladega Superspeedway.

The Clash airs Sunday, Feb. 11 on FOX Sports 1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio at 3 p.m. ET.
