ADVANCE NOTES

Sadler at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Elliott Sadler will make his third NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) start at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this Saturday afternoon in Lexington, OH. In Sadler’s previous two starts at Mid-Ohio, he’s recorded two top-10 finishes. In 2013, Sadler finished sixth and in 2014, Sadler started 13th and finished seventh.

Previous NASCAR XFINITY Series Race

Sadler finished eighth last Saturday at the NXS race at Watkins Glen International. Sadler qualified 11th and got off to a great start missing a few of the early fender benders at the start of the race. On Sadler’s second pit stop, he entered pit road under green, but NASCAR penalized Sadler for driving through too many pit boxes. Rebounding from the penalty, Sadler pushed his No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang through the field and made up for the lost positions. After two more pit stops, Sadler was able to work his way forward and crossed the finish line in the eighth position.

2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series Driver Point Standings

Following the NXS race at Watkins Glen International, Sadler remains in fifth-place, in the NXS Driver Point Standings. After 20 races, Sadler is now 58 points behind the leader, but only one point out of fourth-place.

Race Coverage

TV coverage for Saturday’s NXS race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will be on NBCSN at 3:30PM ET.

Patient Champion

This weekend, for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200, Sadler will be paired up with a Patient Champion. Sadler’s Patient Champion is Aiden VanWagner, a seven year old from West Jefferson, OH. Aiden will have his name and picture on Sadler’s No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang. Aiden will also spend quality time with Sadler pre-race and will walk with Sadler across the stage during the driver introductions ceremony.

Sadler will make an appearance and sign autographs at a OneMain Financial branch, located near Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Friday morning at 11:00AM ET. The OneMain Financial branch is located at 2164 Walker Lake Rd., Ontario, OH 44903.

QUOTE WORTHY

“I’ve finished in the top-10 in both of my previous starts at Mid-Ohio, but the special moments I get to share with my Patient Champion are the memories I think about the most. I applaud the Nationwide Children’s Hospital for putting this rewarding program together each year. This year, Aiden VanWagner will be with me and I can’t wait to meet him. I’ll meet Aiden pre-race at my hauler and surprise him with a ton of racing gear. Next we’ll go over to the car and I’ll show him his name and picture on my car. Following that, I’ll show him how to climb in a race car and then he can take a turn and sit in my seat. After that we’ll walk across the stage together for driver intros. Finally, Aiden will get to cheer me on from my pit box and hopefully we’ll see each other again post-race in victory lane.”
